As we say goodbye to Summer 2015, Fall is on the horizon! Sweaters, bonfires, and haunted hayrides are some great things on people’s minds when the autumn season approaches. With that being said, it is crucial to take advantage of some easy, quick car maintenance before the winter months come rolling through!

Follow these effortless steps to keep up with car maintenance:

Inspect tires for uneven damage. Summer is a great time for road trips to the beach, the city, and weekend get-aways that require lots of highway driving. The turnpike naturally brings wear and tear to your tires, but it is important to keep up with tire check. Before leaves and snow begin to fall, get your tires inspected to prevent any sliding due to lack of traction.

Check your lightbulbs for clarity. Give your headlight, fog lights, and hi-beam bulbs a check for clarity and sharpness. It is beginning to get darker much earlier, which means your lights are even more important in the approaching fall season. There are a few home remedies, including aluminum compound oil and toothpaste, which can help with fogginess in your car lights.

Windshield Wiper Repair. When it comes to driving, there is nothing more frustrating than wipers that don’t work correctly. Whether they are slow, or streaky, it is a huge inconvenience for your windshield and potentially your safety! Getting replacement wipers is super easy! Simply go to your local auto shop, look up your size wipers in the reference catalog, and make a purchase. Fall is the perfect time to make sure your windshield is in tip-top shape because changing those wipers in the middle of winter could be a nightmare!

Check your battery. Colder temperatures are coming and this is the perfect time to check that your battery is functioning fully and to its best ability. The colder the weather, the more work your battery has to do! To prevent a battery dying in a snow storm, make sure to utilize battery inspection this fall! Make sure to have jumper cables in the back of your trunk just in case- you can buy them at most auto-convenient stores in your town!

Give it a bath. Our last final tip for car maintenance this fall is to get your car WASHED! There is nothing like feeling proud of your car and having it in tiptop shape! Get your car fresh and clean to enjoy the last few sunsets and fun night rides of the fall!
