The sun is melting the snow away which must mean spring is upon us! After months of being cooped up inside due to icy road conditions or sub-zero weather, you’re probably searching for a few reasons to leave the house. Look no further! Miller’s has listed 8 family-friendly events you can still make this March!
- West Chester Food Co-op Community Meeting
On Sunday, March 15th Sprout Music Collective will be hosting the West Chester Food Co-op Community Meeting. Swing by with your family at 3:00PM and enjoy refreshments and live music! The meeting focuses on the community’s vision of bringing a community-owned grocery store and great local food to the borough. Located at 130 East Prescott Alley in West Chester. Sprout is affiliated with Roots Café.
- National History Day
The 26th annual National History Day will be held at the Chester County Historical Society on Friday and Saturday, March 20th and 21st. This all day event celebrates intelligence! Middle and high school students will gather, along with their families, to present primary research and thesis to judges. Winning projects advance to the state competition which will be held in May.
- Spoon River Project
This ticketed event is based on Edgar Lee Masters Spoon River Project. The play depicts former Spoon River citizens reflecting on life and what their futures could have been. The memories of the past paint a truthful portrait of the town. The play will be held March 26th-28th at 8:00 PM and March 28-29th at 2:00 PM at West Chester University’s E.O. Bull Center for the Arts, J. Peter Adler Studio Theatre. Tickets are $10 for general seating.
- Popovich Comedy Pet Theatre
This family oriented comedy act features Gregory Popovich and his performing pets! Enjoy his comedic jokes, juggling, and watch his rescued pets do their thing! The event will be held at West Chester University at 7:30PM. Tickets are on sale on the university’s website, or you can obtain them by calling 610-436-2266.
- Planetarium Show
On March 27th at 7:00PM, West Chester University’s Planetarium will host Movie Show: Astronaut. Reservations are required to attend this one hour show. Call 610-436-2266 or visit the university’s website to save your seat! Located at the University Planetarium, Schmucker Science Center, located on South Church Street between University Avenue and Rosedale Avenue.
- Easter Bunny Express
On March 28th and 29th, the Easter Bunny Express will be departing from the West Chester Railroad at noon and 2:00 PM. The Easter Bunny will be on board to distribute treats to passengers and take pictures with kids! This 90 minute round trip ride goes from West Chester to Glen Mills Station along the beautiful Chester Creek. Bring your camera so you can get your picture with the Easter Bunny during the 20 minute stop at Glen Mills Station. Come and enjoy the live music while your little ones enjoy the furry visitor!
- Easter Egg Hunt at Everhart Park
The Easter Bunny will be at Everhart Park on March 28th for an Easter egg hunt! The hunt begins at 10:00AM sharp, and kids ages 2-9 are encouraged to participate. Don’t forget to bring your own basket or bag to collect your goodies in!
- Tamagawa University Taiko Drumming and Dance Troupe
The nationally recognized and highly-ranked Taiko drummers and Japanese folkloric dancers from Tamagawa University in Japan will be at West Chester University on March 31st at 7:30PM. Order your tickets now to ensure you get a seat to this great show! The show will be held at Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall, Philips Memorial Building, on WCU campus!
